【Auspicious Rite of Heavenly Absolution】
2022/8/23 (the 26th of the 7th lunar month)
It is recorded in ancient texts that “Spring absolution on the fifteenth term of the sexagenary cycle (Earth Tiger); in summer, the thirty-first term of the sexagenary cycle (Wood Horse). Convene joyously in autumn of the forty-fifth term of the sexagenary cycle (Earth Monkey). And in winter of the first term of the Chinese sexagenary cycle (Wood Rat) is especially beneficial. All encounters with misfortunes turn to blessings. On this day (punishments are) relaxed, (false accusations are) wiped, and (blessings) bestowed.” The day of heavenly absolution is a day when the Jade Emperor God forgives the unintentional mistakes made by sentient beings. In this vein, the Songshan Feng Tian Temple has invited Master Lu Chengrong of the Chonghua Daoist Association to to lead a team of Taoist masters to pray and worship together and contribute their efforts to those who are contrite.
